Founded by Royal Charter in 1967, the University of Stirling was the first genuinely new university in Scotland for over 400 years. We retain our pioneering spirit and a passion for innovation and excellence in all we do.
We aim to be at the forefront of research and learning that helps to improve lives. Working with academic, commercial, public, private and voluntary sector partners, Stirling is one of the UK’s leading research universities in the fields of health and wellbeing, the environment and people, culture and society, enterprise and the economy, and sport. We are consistently recognised as being 2nd in Scotland for Marketing by the Complete University Guide.
Students are at the heart of what we do and we provide one of the best all round student experiences in the UK. In learning and teaching, we work with our student community to deliver high quality programmes. With over 14,000 students (around 10,300 undergraduate students and over 3,800 postgraduate students) and 120 nationalities represented on campus we are a truly global institution.
We produce intellectually able graduates who are highly sought after by employers and we are ranked 1st in Scotland and 3rd in the UK for graduate employability, with almost 97% of our graduates in employment or further study within six months of graduating (HESA 2016). We are ambitious for our students, and our flexible learning opportunities enable them to explore and discover new subjects and interests.
Firmly established as a leading international university in the field of management, the University of Stirling has earned a world-class reputation in research and education. Demand for our business and management graduates is consistently high and we have developed strong, fruitful partnerships with business, industry and the public sector locally, nationally and globally.
The University of Stirling Management School’s exceptional performance in the Research Excellence Framework (REF2014) has resulted in a coveted place among the UK’s top 25 institutions for Business and Management, out of 101 business schools. We are also ranked 14th in the UK for research impact and we are amongst the top 2% of Business Schools globally to hold AMBA Accreditation.
