Higher Education Academy (HEA) Appoints Marketing Discipline Lead We are delighted to announce that the Lynn Vos (l.vos@mdx.ac.uk), currently at Middlesex Business School, has been appointed as the national Marketing discipline lead (0.5) at the HEA. The HEA have agreed that Lynn will join the AM Education Sub-Committee to ensure that we are all working synergistically to add value to the marketing academic community. This is a fantastic development - anyone who has met Lynn can see that she will have the drive and enthusiasm to make a real difference as well as some dedicated time and resource to add to our voluntary efforts to date. HEA/AM Marketing Education Workshops The Academy will make two calls for expressions of interest from universities to host, organise and run HEA workshops, with the offer of £500 towards the costs. This is in addition to any funds available from BMAF in Transition. There will be two elements: Marketing Education Lynn is expected to agree up to 10 events this year . This will be an open call through 2011-2012 Academic Year until all funds are allocated. we would hope for a mix of topics and geographic locations, with Programmes that offer significant opportunities to talk with colleagues rather than be talked at! Thematic Workshops The HEA has a series of broad themes as priorities for 2011-2012 including Assessment and Feedback, Flexible Learning, Retention and Success, Internationalisation, Reward and Recognition for Teaching, Education for Sustainable Development, Employability - each theme has a similar level of funding available. This will be a closed call with a deadline for applications, as with the thematic call in 2010-2011. Information will be announced on the HEA website. This is a substantial opportunity and if successful is likely to be continued in future years. Please discuss your ideas with John Kerridge-Beaumont or Lynn Vos. |
